We can’t remain the same person we were five years ago—or even six months ago.
As we pass our days we encounter new people, new places, and new experiences.
As leaders, we educate ourselves, and then we elaborate on that experience to help educate others.
To educate is to grow; to elaborate is to share that growth with those around you.
When we experience new things, we develop new behavior. We create new action—which, in turn, creates new experiences for the benefit of those around us.
It is our duty as leaders to share what we know, to teach what we learn, and to encourage others to share with us.
If we are looking to truly making a difference in leadership, we need to educate and elaborate. It is the most fundamental cycle of life and leadership.
Lead from within: Be curious and learn. Educate and elaborate. Continue to create the cycle of leadership.

Lolly – Thank you for this post, as it is is absolutely “timely” for me – I think that when we learn the activity generates in us an appetite to share – the reaching out to communicate is a natural impulse – then when we meet resistance (organizing a way, a place, an audience) the tough going sometimes diminishes our appetite. If that happens on a regular basis, one becomes “weary” – not a good place to be – so having a reminder such as this is a welcome energizer.
Thanks.

Lolly, I love to learn, and you know I love to elaborate. So we go around and interact, we are interconnected with an interdependence that is inexplicably indescribable. All that we must know is already known within, yet we forget and collectively forge ahead looking for some other magical destination and answer.
Driven by desires, wants and wishes many answers we walk upon in the rush to be first, to get the next great thing, to discover a new way to be happy, to have wealth, to succeed. But here it is, right where you can never loose it, within each and every one of us, the tools the knowledge the happiness and wealth is already here.
The cycle of leadership must be ridden by us all, individually as we first learn our own maps of life that we hold within. Then as we learn and feel our emotions, we can ride together, learning by sharing, educating and offering hope, love and compassion. We must learn that different is not always wrong, we must learn to see what we have been missing from each other, and we must learn to forgive. We must look with our hearts to see the changes not only in the world, but in ourselves, and as you say. “teach what we learn, and to encourage others to share with us”
Our interdependence is our strength, it is what binds us and holds our humanity. As we change we can grow closer and more interconnected, we can succeed where past generations have faltered because we are starting to see that sharing our models is education, it is growth that offers better vision within ourselves. If we can learn with open hearts and minds from what we already hold within, then we can better educate the foundation of tomorrow, today’s youth.
Could there be a better cause or reason to continue to “Educate To Elaborate” than to build a loving and compassionate foundation that can hold the vastness of our humanity, I can not think of one.
Love your post, love #leadfromwithin,
See you on Tues night at 8pm
Simon
